New Book Out: Servant Leadership in the Light of Faith

Serviam has just launched its first book!

A new benchmark for leadership in today’s materialistic, consumerist world is tackled in a new, pioneering book, SERVANT LEADERSHIP IN THE LIGHT OF FAITH, edited by Visitacion “Chit” R. de la Torre. Service to others is the essence of servant leadership.

In this volume, Filipino leaders in diverse fields of professions, advocacies and social concerns, share their insights and experiences. Being Christ-centered, servant leadership is demanding, challenging, and even unorthodox. But rooted in faith, any man or woman shall be sustained in his/her work of serving others, specially those who are at the fringes of society.

Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, in his foreword, states that the reflections and insights of the authors go beyond the secular paradigm of servant leadership in an organizational context. Biblical in concept, it is a Catholic understanding of leadership where Jesus Christ, “who did not come to be served, but to serve…” (Mk 10,45) is put at the center.

This new book features Serviam Catholic Charismatic Foundation, Inc.’s first Conference on the theme “Servant Leadership in the Year of Faith.” Those who took part in the Conference as well as those who read the book, together, shall seize that fresh spark of authentic servant leadership in all areas of life. This volume hopes to give its readers a distinct appreciation of servant leadership in the country.
