Through Baptism, we were uniquely “chosen” by God to be His own. He put an indelible mark in each of us to show that we belong to Him.

As we mature, we engender influence over others; in our family, in our office or in the community we live in, by our being servant leaders. As such we need to imitate Jesus, the Good Shepherd, by tending and safeguarding the flock we are entrusted with. However, if we are to be good servant leaders, we need to be good followers first, especially when it comes to keeping God’s commandments.

To follow God’s commandments faithfully, we have to be empowered by the Holy Spirit, Who enables us to know the truth and Who gives us the wisdom to discern and choose the things that are heavenly rather than the passing things of this world. The Holy Spirit also inspires us to live a truly Christian life using to the fullest possible the gifts we have received.

May the fruit of the Spirit of love, joy and peace be made manifest in us to benefit not only ourselves but more so for the good of the universal Church.
