SERVIAM HISTORY

Birth and Growth

The Serviam Community was established in June 2003 by two Servant Leaders: Jaime Cardinal Sin and distinguished lay leader Antonio “Sonny” De Los Reyes. Together with Fr. Anton CT Pascual, appointed by the Cardinal to serve as its Spiritual Director, they envisioned a new community that would be distinct and set apart.

Using the episcopal motto of Jaime Cardinal Sin, the name Serviam, which means “I Will Serve”, was given to the community.

Serviam has been blessed with the guidance of its past Foundation Chairs, including Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales and Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle. The current Foundation Chairman is Jose Cardinal Advincula.

Over the years, Serviam has truly distinguished itself. It has grown into a community of leaders who fulfill their God-given purpose. A community that follows Christ as its role model and embodies the distinct core values of Servant Leadership in everyday life. Its members aspire to be leaders who serve first, prioritizing the needs of others above their own desires. They possess a servant’s heart like Jesus, as the Gospel of Mark states,

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).
