HIS HEART WAS MOVED WITH PITY FOR THEM…
In the Gospel, Jesus displays a very strong sense of compassion for those who are suffering and experiencing misfortunes in life. As God, it is inherent in Him to have a spontaneous readiness to act for the good of others.
Jesus spent the whole day curing the sick and preaching about the living bread that will satisfy everyone. By nightfall, He responded to their problem of hunger by the multiplication of five loaves and two fish. Through this miracle, Jesus conveyed that only when people accept to put in common all that they have will there be a standing chance of solving great problems.
During this pandemic, people learned to help the poor and the hungry on their own knowing that the government cannot do everything. Many got together and used their time, talent and treasure to raise funds for relief packs, PPEs, masks and ventilators for hospitals and the brave front-liners.
All of us, as Servant Leaders and disciples of Christ, should have the same compassion like Jesus for this is the very first condition that brings us to action. What Jesus has done must continue to be real today and in the years to come.
